Item Information
Cassette seals (sometimes called hub seals) deliver durable reliability in demanding applications. These complex rotary shaft seals are used in heavy duty environments for fluid retention and exclusion of harsh contaminants. With a unitized method of construction, spring-loaded sealing elements ride on a self-contained internal wear sleeve surface. Multiple sealing contact points, as well as excluder lips may be integrated inside the wear sleeve surface and/or located on the OD. Designs with rubber covered metal OD casings provide improved sealing against the bore and are used for soft alloy housings.
Cassette seals from YJM are used in extreme conditions such as:
• Wash down applications on gear reducers used in food processing
• Mining, agriculture and power generation applications with severe environmental debris
YJM offers standard as well as custom cassette seal designs. Operating conditions and severity of the environment will dictate which design will meet your needs. Design options may include:
• Excluder lips for added protection against contamination and pollution, water spray and debris
• Patented axial face seal surface for dirt exclusion
• YJM sealant which fills small imperfections in the bore
• Rubber covered OD for improved sealing due to thermal expansion

Standard Designs
CB Profile: Metal case with YJM bore sealant standard. Note: CB design requires special installation tool.
CL, CH Profile: Rubber covered OD for improved OD sealing and soft alloy housing.
Custom designs featuring additional or alternate sealing or exclusion contact points may be engineered for special conditions such as high misalignment, pressure or axial movement.
